Blue Tent Instructors
AP English Language & Composition, Advanced Senior English
Lisa has 25 years of teaching experience, and she still loves it as much as the day she began! It all started with an undergraduate degree from Lock Haven University in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English--and ever since, teaching middle school and high school classes has been her passion.
Lisa's experience teaching English and history classes spans public, private, homeschool, online, and co-op settings. Most recently, she's been the Dialectic and Rhetoric Instructor within a private school, teaching both face-to-face and remotely online. She's found teaching honors English classes to 9th through 12th graders to be an amazing experience. Lisa has a passion for gifted students--she loves her interaction with them, watching them grow in their critical thinking and writing skills.
A love of learning and teaching led Lisa to return to school herself--setting an example for her students and children. In December 2018, she completed her M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, and she is scheduled to earn her Ph.D. in Education in August 2021.
Lisa and her husband Rob have been married for nearly 21 years and have three children: Jared is a junior at Liberty University studying UAV, Abby is a high school junior, and Gabrielle is a high school freshman. In her free time, Lisa loves to read, crochet, garden, and hike nearby trails and waterfalls.
