Lisa Glover

AP English Language & Composition, Advanced Senior English

Lisa has over 25 years of English teaching experience, and she loves working with students now just as much as the day she began! It all started with an undergraduate degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English--and from that point, teaching high school and college classes has been her passion.

Lisa has taught English and history classes in public school, private school, homeschool, and college settings. She's taught in traditional face-to-face classrooms as well as online and in co-ops. Before joining Blue Tent, Lisa was a long-time high school Honors English instructor at a private school in North Carolina. She finds teaching advanced English literature & composition classes to be inspiring and rewarding. Lisa has a passion for gifted students--she loves nurturing their critical thinking and writing skills and watching them grow into amazing communicators.

A love of learning and teaching led Lisa to return to school herself. Setting an example for her students and children, she earned her M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction in 2018 and her Ph.D. in Education in 2022. In addition to teaching classes at Blue Tent, Lisa is an Assistant Professor at Toccoa Falls College.

Lisa and her husband Rob live on a lake in South Carolina. They have three children who they homeschooled for many years. Jared and Abby are now in college, and their youngest daughter, Gabrielle, is a high sophomore. In her free time, Lisa loves to read, crochet, garden, and hike nearby trails and waterfalls.
