Course Details

The Blue Tent Online Journalism Club is a year-long, collaborative course for students interested in reporting, feature writing, editing, and publication design. Students work as a newsroom team to produce original content for the Blue Tent Online student body while learning the fundamentals of journalistic writing, ethics, and publication workflow.

Students contribute to one or more editorial departments, including fashion, film, music, health, science, op-ed, arts and entertainment, sports, book reviews, and student standouts. Each issue may also feature short stories, poetry, and photography submitted by club members or the wider BTO community.

Throughout the year, students pitch ideas, draft and revise articles, collaborate with editors, and prepare content for publication. The club aims to publish four editions per school year, with the scope of each issue determined by enrollment and participation.

Format
