Course Details

For writers who love stories—and want to play with them—this course is a fast-moving, idea-packed six-week sessions designed to energize creativity and strengthen craft. These workshops are intentionally low-pressure, high-engagement spaces where students experiment, take risks, and leave with real pages they’re proud of.

Through imaginative prompts spanning fantasy, fan fiction, mystery, speculative fiction, and myth, students will draft, revise, and polish three original fiction pieces while learning how writers generate ideas, build scenes, and make purposeful choices on the page. Expect creativity, momentum, and lots of "what if?" moments.

What Makes These Workshops Different

  • 📖 Playful, Genre-Hopping Prompts – Each week invites writers to try something new, keeping ideas fresh and curiosity high.

  • ✍️ Draft → Revise → Share – Students practice real writer habits: drafting quickly, revising intentionally, and reflecting on growth.

  • 💬 Supportive Creative Community – Writers share ideas, give feedback, and learn how responding to others strengthens their own work.

  • 📚 All Materials Provided – Short mentor texts, models, and resources supplied by the instructor. No book purchases required.

  • 🚀 Momentum Without Burnout – Designed to fit summer schedules while still producing meaningful work.

Whether students are seasoned storytellers or simply curious writers ready to try something new, these workshops offer a joyful, productive way to spend part of the summer.

Come write. Take risks. Leave with stories worth keeping.
