Algebra 1 | Honors Algebra 1 | Live | 26-27

Studying at Home

Our live online Algebra 1 and Honors Algebra 1 course for middle school and high school homeschoolers is also offered with a self-paced option.

  • Live Class: Students meet with the instructor and classmates for 75 minutes once a week. These live sessions provide a review of topics found in the weekly lessons, additional examples offered by the instructor for practice, small-group collaboration, and plenty of time for questions.

  • Optional Study Halls: In addition to the live classes, the instructor offers an optional weekly study hall. Available to all students, the study hall can be utilized in two ways:

    • Individual questions. Students can drop in to a Zoom study hall at any time to ask questions.

    • Homework time. They can join a Zoom study hall and work on their math homework, with mics muted and videos on or off. They can then unmute to ask for immediate help when questions arise.

More about Catie Love

Catie Love.jpeg

Catherine “Catie” Love is an educator with a strong background in both secondary and collegiate mathematics. Originally from east Tennessee, she earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics and two minors (Secondary Education and Music Industry) from Middle Tennessee State University in 2024 while simultaneously teaching Algebra 1 in her final semester. She later moved to Arkansas in 2024 when her husband, an officer in the U.S. Air Force, was stationed there.

Catie is currently pursuing her master’s in applied mathematics and is on track to graduate in May 2026; she will begin a Ph.D. in Mathematics in Fall 2026. As a Graduate Assistant, she has taught a

range of college-level courses, from Foundations of College Algebra to Applied Calculus I, and has tutored students in various math classes since she was in high school.

As the daughter of two high school math teachers, Catie values education deeply and brings that passion into every class she teaches. She teaches with a focus on growth mindset, real-life applications of math, and creating a supportive environment where questions are encouraged and mistakes are seen as a natural part of learning. She believes that every student is capable of learning mathematics, though students grow at different rates and in different ways.

Outside the classroom, Catie enjoys hiking, traveling, crocheting, playing card games, and listening to music.
